Can You Use A Heat Gun To Melt Solder
This option makes soldering silver faster and easier.
Can you use a heat gun to melt solder. As long as they arent for gas tight joints there is absolutely no problem at all with using a heat gun for this purpose. Soldering Iron vs. Keep it short add enough leaded solder to conduct heat into all the pads you want to melt then apply a high-power soldering iron like a 100W dumb soldering pistol or a temperature controlled iron.
If you dont have a hot air gun a cigarette lighter just waved over the heatshrink will do the job better. Once the component is in place leave it on the board to cool for at least 10 minutes. Aiming the heat gun at the same point can melt the board after a certain period of time.
The big word is usually. On applying solder paste a very small pointed artist brush works excellently to put a thin coat more like the stencil method shown in the video. It is a bit more intricate to explain.
A soldering gun even high wattage units isnt going to give you enough heat and even if it could its not going to heat the pipes uniformly. I wouldnt say never use a heat gun for soldering pipes together. This should take no longer than a minute.
Just dont hold the flame still. Be sure to aim the hot air at a component carefully. Before soldering you need to thoroughly clean and carefully assemble your workpiece but you can easily do it yourself.
Make sure to check the datasheet on the IC. It takes a little longer to get the pipes up to temperature but the result is the same and you arent working near any potentially explosive gases. This allows the heat to come directly from the heat gun without trying to direct it or funneling it.
