How To Put A Decorating Tip On A Ziploc Bag
Like any part of cake decorating this takes practice.
How to put a decorating tip on a ziploc bag. Cut the tip of the bag so that when you drop the tip inside the bag a small portion of it protrudes through the opening. Use icing that is completely smooth and just slightly stiff. Very helpful and informative.
Plop a spatula-full or two of icing onto the plastic wrap. When using a tip you will snip off the end of the pastry bag drop your coupler inside the bag then screw the tip on the outside of the bag with the other end of the coupler. Push the coupler base back into the bag and cut at the mark.
Its a little tricky because your piping tip is kind of in a weird spot. Click to mark this step as completed. Insert your nozzle into your piping bag all through to the pointy end.
Put bows and flattened gift bags in separate gallon size Ziploc brand bags and use old gift tags to label each bag including the name-tag bag. Push back the nozzle passed that line to make some space. Cut through the plastic horizontally where you had marked your line.
Then place them all in a Ziploc Flexible Tote bag. When using a plastic Ziploc bag to pipe frosting or as Ive done in the photo filled deviled eggs instead of cutting across the corner cut into it and it will produce a star-like effect so you dont have to insert a decorator tip in the bag. The base fits inside the bag then you put the decorating tip of your choice over the portion of the coupler that sticks out of the bag.
Cut the tip of the bag off at the 14-inch mark and reinsert the nozzle which will poke out the tip of the bag so you can pipe on swirly. As you squeeze adjust the pressure to the speed you are going. Push the nozzle through the hole.
