How To Sterilise Glass Jars
Here are my failsafe four methods to sterilise jars whatever your situation.
How to sterilise glass jars. Place the jars upside-down on a clean rack to dry. Place the jars and bottles in the microwave and heat on full power for 60 seconds. Wash jars in hot suds and rinse in scalding water.
Place them upside-down on a piece of absorbent kitchen paper like Plenty to dry off. Turn the heat off then leave the jars to cool completely in the pan. Try soaking them in hot soapy water first if theyre tricky to remove.
Step 4 - Sterilise metal seals in boiling water for 5 minutes and then leave in water. Fill the pan with cold water until the jars are covered. For jars with a rubber ring seal remove the seal before washing the jars and place in a small saucepan.
