There are no specific settings in the Google Maps app for this its automatically enabled when youve started walking directions however you will need to ensure that your ringer switch is set to silent and that the in-app Mute option is disabled simply turn down your volume if you dont want to hear the spoken directions going off in your pocket. Turn it off and it wont start automatically next time. Open Google Maps either on your iPhone or the web and set your destination.
Pin your starting point. The Google Maps may have already read your current location if you are. Youll see the switch for Driving Mode at the top of the screen.
